What’s in store for the AAI in 2022? The Technical Expert Group members provide recommendations

The AAI is implementing the project Enhancing Knowledge and Evidence to Scale-Up Climate Change Adaptation in Africa supported by the EU and UNDP. The TEG of this project which includes representatives of the European Union, the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA), the AAI Champion, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) met and provided advice and recommendations for the planned activities for this year.

During the World Leaders Summit (1-2 November 2021) at the 26th Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), His Excellency Ali BONGO ONDIMBA, President of the Gabonese Republic, Champion of the African Adaptation Initiative (AAI) highlighted how Gabon is committed to being one of the most carbon-positive country in the world and called on countries that contribute the most to global greenhouse gas emissions to increase their ambitions in line with the 1.5 degrees Celsius goal.
