The APIA South-South Exchange Forum and launch of  The Adaptation Finance Academy (AFA) at the site of the ECOVERSE village in Kéve Togo

In a groundbreaking initiative to transform Africa's access to climate finance, the APIA South-South Exchange Forum and the launch of the Adaptation Finance Academy (AFA) brought together key stakeholders in Kévé, Togo, from December 16-20, 2024. This five-day forum marked a significant milestone in strengthening the continent's capacity to mobilize and manage climate adaptation funding. The forum addressed a critical gap in Africa's climate finance landscape: despite having institutions accredited with the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Adaptation Fund (AF), many African Direct Access Entities (DAEs) face significant challenges in mobilizing and managing climate finance effectively.
